QOTD: “The best things in life aren’t things” –Art Buchwald
Can you believe it has almost been a year since
Bo and I got married? I relive our wedding all the time. Best day of my life.

Memories of your wedding start long before you even
get married. Like taking engagements. Our first set of engagements was on a
hill out in Daybreak. Bo was acting like such a goof I couldn’t
stop laughing! She told us to laugh and he looks at me and says, “Say
something funny.” Then just busts out
laughing with the funniest/fakest laugh I’ve
ever heard. Thanks to my little sis for capturing that on video! (The very first picture below captured that moment.) Our next set
of engagements it was raining, started out good, then my straight hair turned
into a frizz ball. (hagrid is what they used to call my hair) If you could only
see the tricks it does out here in Louisiana.
Notice my hair and how frizzy it gets in theses next
pictures…
I still
remember his face as I was walking down the temple hall to him, the first time
he saw me in my dress. He was talking to someone, but stopped them and just
stood there looking at me with the biggest smile on his face. Unforgettable.
Walking out of those temple doors hand in hand with our loved ones on the other
side cheering for us was the best! During the luncheon we were lucky enough to
be reminded of all the great memories we’ve
had with our family and friends and how much love and support we have in our
life. I’m
so grateful Grandpa Brimhall was able to come to the wedding luncheon to spend
this time with us. I always wanted to have a baby before he left us, but at
least he was able to see me happily married to my best friend. We were so
blessed to have so many family and friends there to support us.
Wheeler Farm was BEAUTIFUL! Props to my mom and all
those who helped set up and take down. We couldn’t
have done it without you! The photo booth was a hit, and later we found out a
hit with our nieces and nephews. Every 5th picture there is my
nieces and nephews. J A memory they will hopefully never
forget. The endless line of people who were there to congratulate us was
overwhelming and such a bitter sweet time, as for some of these people, this
was our last goodbye before we left for Louisiana. Then off we went into the
moonlight to our honeymoon where our newlywed adventure began!
Louisiana has been pretty good to us. Here is a
little time frame of what we have been up to the past year.
June – got married to my best
friend for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake Temple! Went on our honeymoon
to St. George, Huntington Beach, Venice and Santa Monica, Ensenada and Catalina
Cruise, and Vegas. Scuba dived for the first time in the Ocean off Catalina
Island, Road a Scooter through Ensenada, took a tandem bike down the board walk
to Venice beach, Went to Coke and M&M Factory and tried around the rootbeer
floats by Coke which Bo insisted he could finish…
He didn’t.
Oh yes, and discovered our love for Kneaders Breakfast in St. George. Family Reunion
to Twin Falls where we tried out our camping gear for the first time.
July (2012) – Last 4th of July in Sugarhouse Park. Moved to Louisiana & Bo started his
first year of dental school. He introduced me to Blue Bell! Saw our first wild alligator. (I don't have pictures but a video is on Facebook)
August – Amy came to visit us with the boys. Experienced
our first hurricane. (miserably hot, not doing that again.) Went to Destin with
the Manuele’s for the last part of the
hurricane. (These were on our old camera)
September – Mam and Pap Brimhall came to visit us! (I don't know where I put all the pictures during this time..)
October – Had our 3 year anniversary from when we
met. Oct. 1, 2009 at the LDS Sorority and Fraternities at the U of U institute!
Dressed as a Greek God and Goddess for Halloween.
Throw back to December 2009 when he told me he loves me. We've come so far since then. I LOVE HIM!
November – Traveled to Missouri to spend
Thanksgiving with Amy and Ell and the boys. I can’t
describe what a difference it makes going somewhere cold for these holidays. I
miss the cold.
December – Our first Christmas married. I did something off my bucket list and blew glass! Went home for the
first time for Christmas!! We miss our family and friends.
January (2013) – I began my last
semester of school at UNO and the U. Went to Gross Revue. (A dance for the Dental School) Visited Houston, Bo’s
mission. Said goodbye to Grandpa Brimhall.
February – Did our first 5K –
the Color Run. Experience Mardi Gras for
the first time. Amy, Ell, Brig, and
Clark came to visit us and experience Mardi Gras as well. We learned how to make Sushi earlier in the year, and Bo made it for me for Valentines.
March – Found out we are expecting!! Went to
Pensacola with Manuele’s, Jardine’s,
and Errington’s.
a baby will
make love stronger,
Days shorter,
Nights longer,
Bankroll smaller,
Home happier,
Clothes shabbier,
The past
forgotten,
And the future
worth living for. J
"Hi dad, I can't wait to meet you!"
May – Experienced Jazz Fest for the first time (covered with mud) and saw Maroon 5 perform. Finished my Bachelor’s!!
Bo finishes his first year of dental school!!! Kayaked in the Bayou. We leave for South Africa!!!!
Baby – We
cannot wait to meet our sweet baby! Bo is certain it’s
a boy, I’ve
had dreams it was a boy, but we can only be certain when we go in for our
ultrasound June 27th! I haven’t
felt baby much, but I know he/she’s
in there thanks to the heartbeat. My first trimester flew by with no illnesses
or tiredness, but the beginning of this one I was tired and I got the flu
(probably nothing to do with baby). Although I have had a stuffy nose the past
couple days and I read that is common during this time. I am currently 15 weeks
and 2 days today. We may not have a whole lot of things for this baby, but we
do have a whole lot of love! Bo is going to be such an amazing dad! You can see
it with the way he is with other kids. He knows how to love them and make them
laugh and also knows how to keep them in line. Of course, Bo is going to be the
first name most of the nieces and nephews learn now…
haha. My mom
took our niece Cora up to our wedding picture to point out people and have her
tell my mom their names and Cora points first at Bo and says, “BO!”
She’s
22 months, but learned his name long before now. Hopefully our baby doesn’t
call him Bo though. I don’t know if many people
know this, but my sister and sister-in-law and I are all due the first two
weeks of November!
Jamie – Nov. 3rd,
Me –
Nov. 10th, and Jen Nov. 18th. These three
wild babies are gonna have so much fun with their cousins! Luckily we got older
cousins to tease them. I don’t know what more
to say about being pregnant. I feel like I’m
not really. I feel like I just am gaining weight and going to the doctor about
it, and going to the bathroom all th time. Haha. Once I feel baby move and know the gender I think it will really set
in. We are so excited!!
Here is what I look like right now. I'll be 16 weeks tomorrow!
Me and these two cuties are all due within two weeks of each other!
Here is what I look like right now. I'll be 16 weeks tomorrow!
Although we have been busy out here and Bo
especially with school, we have definitely found time to make the most of it. I’m
surprised as I look back and see all the memories and fun times we have
had since being here and how we haven’t
wasted away any of it. I hope we keep it up. We've met so many great friends here! Sad to say goodbye to many, but so glad they came into our lives! (This doesn't mean you're getting out of it either) You only live once and we aren’t
getting any younger. Here’s to more memories and
the bright future ahead of us love!!
I
love you Bo!
xoxoxo
