One of my favorite
speakers, Elder Joseph B. Wirthlin gave a talk in General Conference in 2008
called
Come What May and Love it.
He talks about
being happy, learning to laugh, and turn hard times into memorable times.
“The first thing we can do is learn to
laugh. Have you ever seen an angry driver who, when someone else makes a
mistake, reacts as though that person has insulted his honor, his family, his
dog, and his ancestors all the way back to Adam? . . . Learn to laugh.”
“We laughed, and as a result, anger and
resentment rarely resulted. Our laughter created cherished memories for us.”
This is perfect for
me now. Seeing as how Bo and I will be moving soon, I think back about all the
memories that I’ve had here and it makes it hard for me to say goodbye. But I’m
glad I have great memories, an awesome family, and wonderful friends who I know
will always be there for me.
I can’t believe
there is only 2 1/2 months left. I hope
things will always be the same with my friends, that we can come back and pick
up right where we left off like usual. I
hope my nieces and nephews don’t forget Aunt Kristin. I also hope I can make a
difference in the people’s lives in Louisiana.
It’s funny how when
hard times come, you start to think of things, like making memories. I hope I’ve made lots of memorable times in
the lives of people I’ve met and been friends with here, cuz I know you have
made a difference in my life and I won’t ever forget the memories!
Someone I can thank
for this talk above is a couple of my best friends, Archie (((aka Jess)), Bryndals, and Kylee.
Kylee is the friend
that no matter where we are in life, and no matter how long it’s been since we’ve
seen each other, we can always pick up right where we left off. We always said
that whoever we marry needs to spend a day with us together so they can see the
true side of us. We can do scenarios and feed off each other’s stories for
HOURS~! I’ll say something funny ((as usual) and she’ll be laughing
so hard she’ll start crying and dabbing the corners of her eyes with her little
fingers, one finger at a time till she runs out of fingers. Ky gets excited
about the little things and makes you more excited yourself. She’s thoughtful,
considerate, and hilarious. J
Bryndy is the friend you can talk to and just feel good
about yourself. She always is full of
compliments and things to pick you up. I’ve never heard her say anything bad
about another person. Brydnals taught me how to laugh at yourself, if you fall
down, make a mistake, or just think you’re funny, LAUGH OUT LOUD. She’ll say something and only she thinks it’s
funny but everyone ends up laughing cuz she’s laughing so hard. She’s got an
amazing spirit about her, one of those people who lights up any room she walks
into.
Jess, I call her Archie. BAAAAA. ((She’ll get that...) When something funny
happens, or something out of the ordinary, we are always both on the same track
as to what happened. We will see or hear
something, look at each other or squeeze each other’s leg to make it less
noticeable, then bust up laughing. I
LOVE laughs, and Arch has definitely got one of the best laughs. Her laugh is contagious. J She’s someone you
can talk to about literally ANYTHING.
She won’t judge and is always a friend.
Although she’s in a different state, we still keep in contact and I consider her as one of my best friends.
\All three of these girls mean the world to me and have been
there for me. We all have so many fun memories.
I’m gonna miss them... I hope
they won’t forget me.
Keep in contact with people. Make memories. Don’t take these
moments for granted, because one day... things will change.
A walk down memory lane...
I LOVE YOU GIRLS!!!
