Welcome to our blog!

Welcome to our blog!

My name is Kristin, you can call me Kris.  Im ENGAGED to the most amazing man alive, Bo!  I know everyone says that, but I truly am. Ill battle anyone for that. We currently live in Utah, but will be moving across the US to Louisiana for Bo to attend Dental School.  I guess this blog will consist of our adventures before schooling, being engaged, getting married, and during schooling to possibly a kid in the next 4 years, hopefully. J

To start out, we just got our ENGAGEMENTS done by a wonderful photographer, TABITHA.  You can find her on Facebook at:::

Here is a teaser to our engagement photos she took for us!! Just look at how handsome he is!

I LOVE HIM SO MUCH!!!

I am HUGE on goals So Ive made it a goal to improve something each time I post.  It may start out with how I do things currently and then Ill show my improvements or ideas over time.
Today Ill start with MONEY.  I LOVE budgeting!! If I can figure out how to upload an excel spreadsheet, Ill post my budget spreadsheet that calculates everything for you.  Hopefully youll all enjoy it.  My biggest barrier to budgeting is a credit card.  It doesnt give you the ouch factor that cash does.  I still want to use my card because I need some more mileage points to get Bo and I home for Christmas.  So, for those of you who are like me and want to continue to use your card for the "bonuses", I started the PLAY MONEY idea. I took different colored papers and cut them into the size of bills.  Each paper represents an amount.

Yellow - $1
Blue - $5
Pink - $10
Green - $20
Orange - $50

(Hence the picture below... Sorry to point out the obvious)

You can arrange them however you want. The idea of the paper money is to budget a certain amount for the month and put that amount of play money in your wallet.  When you spend money on your card, you can either take it out of your wallet or put a divider in between the money spent and money you still have.  Ill be using the divider idea. This gives you an idea of how much you have left for the month and how much more you have to spend. I just started, so Ill let you know how it goes when the month is over.  If you try this, let me know how it works or if you have better ideas, please share! J
